on 1986 through 1991, the time during which Francis Peay was coach.

For 1986, NU's programs continued to use syndicated content through
Touchdown Illustrated and continued to use game photos for the cover
art. 1986 did feature a small change to the cover format, using a very
"80s" style font and shadow.

Sep. 26, 1987
NIU
Northwestern began creating its own program content again in '87, and
it re-formatted the cover. The font used on the 1987 covers is Peignot,
which HailToPurple.com chose for our logo and title font.

For 1988, NU kept the game photo cover scheme it had used since 1983, but changed the font and format again.

Duke
For 1990, NU again changed font and format for its gameday photo
covers. It also increased the program's cost by a full dollar (the
first increase since 1982) and went back to using syndicated content
provided by Touchdown Illustrated.
