Northwestern won its sixth-straight bowl game, pasting Central Michigan 34-7 in the 2025 GameAbove Bowl at Ford Field in Detroit. The 'Cats and the Chips ended the first quarter knotted at zero before CMU imploded. In the second quarter, the Northwestern defense took the ball from CMU in three straight drives ending in turnovers. Each turnover resulted in an immediate Wildcat touchdown, burying CMU's hopes in a matter of minutes.

NU's offense, much maligned during the season, caught fire in Detroit. Preston Stone, playing in his final game as the 'Cats' quarterback, torched CMU for 226 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions. Meanwhile, NU wideout Griffin Wilde, the eventual MVP of the bowl game, ended up just shy of a hundred receiving yards and two trips into the endzone.

On defense, Braydon Brus notched eleven tackles, while Aidan Hubbard came away with three sacks. But it was Braden Turner's 47-yard fumble recovery and touchdown that was arguably the defensive highlight for the day.

With the win, Coach David Braun has resided over two bowl victories in his first three seasons leading NU.
