Northwestern has officially named Mark Jackson as the next Combe Family Vice President for Athletics & Recreation, the university's AD position. He succeeds Derrick Gragg, who stepped aside in June to take an athletic strategy role. Jackson begins his work at NU on Sunday.

Jackson is currently Villanova's AD; during his term, Villanova won two men's basketball national championships. He also has FBS experience, serving as USC's senior associate AD and executive senior associate AD at Syracuse. Jackson's football experience extends to the NFL: he had staff roles with the Oakland Raiders and New England Patriots.
